The FLC is the fruit of over 25 years of deliberately and systematically seeking answers to the HCUPA question: what does it mean for us to be whole, fully alive, experiencing, choiceful and free human beings?

The FLC consists of theoretical models like, for example, the Bicultural Competence Socialisation Matrix (BCSM) the outcome of realising that objective education/socialisation had kept me on the unconscious quadrants of the BCSM and so life.  This undignified positioning in life, the result of unconscious cultural socialisation, amplified Harriet Tubman’s own view:  I grew up like a neglected weed – ignorant of liberty; having no experience of it.

The Five Dimensional Self, another core model in the FLC, when understood at a deep level, gives recognition to Oprah Winfrey’s claim: I am where I am because of the bridges I have crossed. Sojourner Truth was a bridge. Harriet Tubman was a bridge. Ida B. Wells was a bridge. Fannie Lou Hamer was a bridge. Bridges symbolise the taking on of life challenges, the most important of which is the work we do on ourselves.

The FLC is rich in models and ideas gathered from knowledge across the ages and civilisations and documented because of their human transformation potential in the understanding that culture is the opened, read and understood pages of the book of life which when internalised becomes one’s selfhood

At the current time the content of the FLC is largely shared in classes and workshops offered.
